The Young Shall Grow And We Will All Die -By Micheal A. Adeniyi

I saw Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter on Buruji Kasamu death, and I totally agree with him. Sincerely, I am not alone, hundreds of people including those who throng to Kashamu’s house to pay final respect does, but we are so much hypocritical to the extent that the word “Do not talk ill of a dead person has beclouded our consciousness and ability to think.” Even those words only meant you shouldn’t tell lies against a dead man.

Growing from just a sperm droplet to an embryo in the womb to a toddler, to youth, to an adult then to the grave. That is the order of life for everyone. So when the majority talk about a dead human who lived a reckless life, learn to resist the foolish urge of saying “We will all die” because we will all die.

Since we know we will all die, why don’t we strive to leave a good legacy for the world to see after we are gone.

Call a spade a spade, say the truth. We can only wish dead men to rest in peace, we don’t know how to bring them back and give them a second chance in life, we should stop lying against dead men because they are gone. Stop calling a wicked man a good man at death, stop crying for men who you don’t even care about when alive at their burial, stop celebrating the man you detest when alive. If every dead men are saint, so who destroyed the word? We need to start setting records straight.

A Kashamu Buruji got money for Medical ambulance procurement, he turns the ambulances to personal use and campaign truck, someone somewhere might have died for that greedy behaviour. A Buruji was a drug peddler, he was everything bad but not that all bad alone, he has a good place in the heart of few people too. Which means he was also a good man.

Now the drift, no human can be 100% good, there will be a good and a bad side to a man, even Hitler has his good side, who is even Hitler beside the devil with its own good sides too. So what is my point? Before you knack your head on the wall because of my thought on Buruji Kashamu, just know that I am just a unit in the 60-40 world game. What do I mean? If 60 percent of the people believed you are a good man, so is it and if 60% believe you are bad, so it is. If you want great eulogy you need to die a good man, not as a man who brought more problems to the world.

Not everyone will like you, but 60% is the deal! The real deal and Yes! We need to stop lying about a dead man. Every young man out there should know they will grow and die, and that they will be judged by the quality of life they lived while here on earth.
