It’s a known fact that the former governor and a senator is a political warlord and APC chieftain who’s well respected across the country politically. Without being sentimental, Tinubu is a political bigwig and one of the unassailable power wobbling leaders when it comes to party matter dispensation. Tinubu from decades has continued to grow political wings which many associated wings have also sprouted there under.

He fought many political battles, both intra and inter party battles and won most. Now another serious and vicious battle is awaiting him or started already.

Immediately after last general elections, the speculations surrounding his ambition for the highest seat in the country has appeared and continued to be political daily discussion.
For countless times, Tinubu has rebutted and dispelled his purported declaration for the seat and kept saying “when it’s right time to make decisions, the country would hear directly from him”.

Now, the noises and speculations have been laid to rest as Tinubu himself unequivocally came out and declared his ambition for running for the exalted seat.
Since then, again this has continued to generate different views and analyzes from the intellectuals and elites most especially, from his co-politicians.

Of course, like other Nigerians, Tinubu has every right as a Nigerian to contest, vote and be voted for. He has enough popularity to give a try and adopt political stratagem to convince his party stalwarts to secure the ticket. However, that’s internal issue for his party as who to give ticket.

Fast-forward, as a citizen and a youth I am. I cull my opinion from the country challenges and palavers bewildering our country in present day.
Inarguably, Nigeria is faced with several and severe challenges that have ceased to diminish neither disappeared. These challenges are affecting the long due modernization of our country and instead drawing us back to primitive disposition.

The economy has continued to clamp down, no new industrialization scheme, disengagement of staff has become order of the day, depletion of infrastructure is there, educational system is nothing to write home about, insecurities and corruption as a mother of all has built mansion for itself in the country. Tribal and ethnics amalgamation is also questionable.

At this critical time that Nigerian and Nigerians need a vibrant and serious nationalist that will rescue the country from decays and unify the splitting ethnicity, WHO do we need?
A question left for individuals to think before we answer.

Becoming a leader of a country most especially an ample country like Nigeria of about 300 million citizens requires a concise and discerning requisite or criteria. Within a period of year or less we may choose who to lead us for the next four(4) or eight(8) years but this choosing period is what will determine our situation and condition before the end of “the chosen serving year” thus, we must carefully select before we elect.

WHAT and WHO we need as a candidate are;

Effervescence
Vibrancy
Responsiveness
Inclusiveness
Pro-activeness
Pragmatism
Sound health
Reactiveness and
Nationalist
Intellectual
Unifier and listener
Among others.

Therefore, let’s check the above enumerated criteria to decide if Tinubu has or possesses major or all and if he’s, then we are good to go.
