President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for Ibadan, Oyo State, to attend the coronation of Senator Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the presidential jet left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at around 2:45 p.m.
In Ibadan, Tinubu is expected to join top dignitaries at the official installation ceremony scheduled to take place at the historic Mapo Hall.
Ladoja, an 81-year-old businessman, former governor of Oyo State, and one-time senator, was named the 44th Olubadan following the death of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin on July 7.
His coronation has ignited excitement across the city as residents prepare to witness his formal ascension to the revered throne, a position he attained after rising through the traditional Olubadan chieftaincy hierarchy.
