President Bola Tinubu will visit Maiduguri to inaugurate aviation, transport and education projects, attend a high-profile wedding, and later travel to Bauchi to condole the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi
President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday travel to Borno State to inaugurate key development projects and attend a prominent wedding ceremony in Maiduguri.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visit forms part of the president’s engagements across selected states during the yuletide season.
During his stay in Maiduguri, President Tinubu is expected to commission projects in the aviation, transportation and education sectors executed by both the Borno State Government and the Federal Government.
According to the presidential itinerary, Tinubu will inaugurate newly completed aviation facilities at the Maiduguri International Airport, including an airport extension and a VIP wing, aimed at enhancing air transport operations in the state.
The projects are expected to further boost aviation services in the Northeast, especially amid improving security conditions in the region.
The president will also visit Ramat Square, where he will inaugurate newly procured tricycles intended to improve urban transportation and support livelihood empowerment for residents.
As part of initiatives to expand access to education, Tinubu will commission a newly built primary and secondary school in Maiduguri, named in his honour. The project aligns with the Borno State Government’s broader efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and increase enrolment.
After concluding his engagements in Maiduguri, the president will proceed to Bauchi State to commiserate with the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a respected Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, passed away on November 27.
President Tinubu will thereafter travel to Lagos, where he is expected to spend the end-of-year holidays.
