OH, QUEEN ELIZABETH II
Her Majesty The Queen

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Thou great Queen of the British monarchy,
You exit the land of the living on Sept. 8,
Oh, you left us all quietly from Balmoral Castle,
Your summer home, in the Scottish highlands, unannounced.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
You were the 40th sovereign in a line that traces its lineage back to 1066,
You came to the throne in 1952 and became Britain’s first post-imperial monarch.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
You were that great woman of faith, courage and peace,
You were that monarch, who had carried out hundreds of official engagements well into your 90s by the special grace of God.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
But we are glad, that in line with your sense of duty as usual,
You were photographed just two days before your exit in smiling, holding a gracious sign of old-age walking stick.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
But we are glad that,
You had just remarkably appointed Liz Truss as your 15th and final prime minister,
As you had also cared to name and hand over to King Charles II, the Second.

Oh Queen Elizabeth,
In your life time, you always spoke eloquently and with infinite wisdom on family, faith, and royal duty.

Oh Queen Elizabeth,
You always carefully wove in messages of advice, to us all,
May we recall some of her quotations on PEACE:

Oh Queen Elizabeth,
You said, “When peace comes, remember it will be for us, the children of today, to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place.” – Wartime broadcast with her younger sister, Princess Margaret, October 13, 1940.

Oh Queen Elizabeth,
You assured, “We know the reward is peace on Earth, goodwill towards men, but we cannot win it without determination and concerted effort.” – Christmas broadcast, 1963.

Oh Queen Elizabeth,
You asserted, “It has been women who have breathed gentleness and care into the harsh progress of mankind.” – Christmas broadcast, 1966.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Such was your speeches, brilliance, fame and longevity that held us all, we and your entire family found your passing a shock.
“We all thought she was invincible,” Prince William told well-wishers.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
With pomp and sorrow, the whole world bids you final farewell,
As you are being laid to rest alongside your beloved husband on Monday,
As the nation’s longest-reigning monarch, in a dazzling show of pomp and ceremony.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
See huge crowds thronged the streets of London and at Windsor Castle to witness the moving, grand processions and ceremonies in your dear honour.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Amid formality and careful choreography, there were moments of raw emotion,
See King Charles could not hold back his tears, while grief was etched on the faces of several members of the royal family.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
See Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, welcome the congregation at the state funeral in the majestic Westminster Abbey, where monarchs have been married, buried and crowned over the last 1,000 years, where you were lowered into the vault.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Among the 2,000 congregation there, were some 500 presidents, prime ministers, foreign royal family members and dignitaries,
Including Joe Biden of the United States, all to bid you good night.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Outside were hundreds of thousands who had crammed into the capital to honour you, whose death at the age of 96 has prompted an outpouring of gratitude for her 70 years on the throne.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Many more lined the route as the hearse took your coffin from London to Windsor, throwing flowers, cheering and clapping as it passed from the city to the English countryside that you once ever loved so much.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
At St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, some 800 guests attended a more intimate committal service on your behalf.
While I must not fail to tell of various services being held in your honour simultaneously, in different countries, of the world across the entire globe.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
At St George’s Chapel, your funeral service was finally concluded with the crown, orb and sceptre – symbols of the monarch’s power and governance – being removed from the coffin and placed on the altar.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth
This was the peak of the entire occasion to which you draw us all to a great life lesson that just as the symbols of your authority of 70 unbroken years were removed from your coffin, And your sceptre, orb and crown were quietly removed and placed on the altar of God, all in life originated from God ALMIGHTY, belongs to God, all must be laid at his altar.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
Just as the presiding minister announced, you must return back to your maker,
Just as you came to earth 96 years ago, simply, and without the trappings of your sovereignty,
We all must learn this lifetime lesson,
That with nothing we came,
And with nothing we all shall go one day and return to give account to our maker.

Oh, Queen Elizabeth,
It’s an awesome lesson you have taught and we all have learnt that, the reward(s) of our endless pursuits and indeed our acquisitions here will be left behind some day, And as such we must be careful.

Oh, Queen
Queen Elizabeth II, Her Majesty The Queen,
The only prayer is that, may we all live our lives to please our maker and return back to Him at the right and ripe time, not with empty hands to receive the imperishable crown that can never be taken from us, from CHRIST, the Messiah, in the city of gold and in company of angels in heaven forever. Amen
