Obi said that the pain was engendered by the perky partnership that exists between the palace of the Bakassi Monarch and the university as well as his fatherly counsel and goodwill towards the wellbeing and growth of the institution.

Prof Obi implored the monarch to receive the consolation of the Almighty as only God’s precious words can console him, the family and the people of Bakassi on the demise of the delectable and multi-talented Matriach of the Bakassi nation.

In his response, the Chief mourner and Paramount Ruler of Bakassi, HRM (Dr) Etim Okon Edet in a pensive mood at the occasion of the visit said the loss of his wife was a sad moment for him as she took her untimely exit when he needed her most.

The Royal Monarch described his late wife as intelligent, sensible, tolerant, instructive and accountable, laudable virtues which he said, endeared her to many in Bakassi, Cross River and beyond.

He disclosed that the death of his wife has led him to embrace three life vital lessons which include: the impact of resourcefulness, helping the needy to the best of one’s ability and non- deferment of tasks that requires urgency.

Dr Etim Okon Edet who described the relationship between his late wife and himself as that of brother and sister admitted that he cannot question God who has the final say on the destiny of all mortals.
