Artificial Intelligence - AI

It’s worth believing that life is becoming easier seeing the rapid development in the tech industry with the aid of artificial intelligence around every corner of the world. It has virtually replaced all sets of human activities in many sectors of organizations because the crude or old method of using man as the workforce is no more in vogue. With the help of AI, things have become much easier and faster than in the olden days.

Technologically, AI had spread all over the universe and things are changing in tune with the current situation, AI is now the talk of the town. You will see that everywhere you go, you will observe the presence of artificial intelligence there in one way or the other. With the invention of the first robot-human to the introduction of Chatgpt, you will realize that AI is the new talk of the town.

Alan Turing, a renowned British Mathematician, and Logician, defined Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a computer-controlled robot that performs tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings (human beings).

“Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings,” he said.

In addendum, he further said that since the development of digital computers, it has displayed that computers can carry out very complex activities.

“Since the development of the digital computer in the 1940s, it has been demonstrated that computers can be programmed to carry out very complex tasks—as, for example, discovering proofs for mathematical theorems or playing chess—with great proficiency,” he added.

In analyzing the above-mentioned definition and examples, It is worthwhile to amalgamate artificial intelligence (AI) into higher educational institutions, it has triggered a dynamic discussion about the potential gains and deficiencies of this technology.

It can benefit the seeking, wanting, and acquiring higher institution learners in manifolds of dimensions for effective accessing and gaining knowledge. Citing the example of ChatGpt above, it is important to note that though it helped students in academic exercise but over-reliance on it by the student will affect the ability to make research and think effectively.

It can also produce many customized and efficient learning experiences and increased accessibility to information.

However, its challenges may well centered on aloofness concerns and ethical considerations on the potential AI system to safeguard existing biases.

Given the complex issues surrounding Artificial Intelligence in education, it is vital to carefully weigh the benefits and challenges of AI to make informed decisions for better educational standards.
