Why Does The Land Bleed? -By Tife Owolabi

For how long we will continue to live in a Hobbesian society where life is nasty, brutish and short?

Why does the land sleepwalk and drift into pains and griefs?

Why do the land bleeds and the whole city is covered in sadness?

Pain, sorrow and anguish coated the atmosphere as the land is soaked in a torrent of innocents blood.

A land so much blessed in humans and resources that any others will love to trade her place for but her inhabitants live breath below the tide or on the throes of death.

A nation where everyone is a second away from death as the harbinger of death hovers around due to lack of healthcare facilities or human passion for one another, poverty, unemployment and insecurity.

It displays much dexterity, but amount to little as the state watch her citizens kidnapped, maimed, killed and raped randomly.

Why have death and sorrow plague the city and the mortals watch haplessly an avoidable calamitous situation?

Death is the destination we all share but it is something one can prolong and as Martin Luther once said “Every man must do two things alone; he must do his believing and his death.”
