Free education is dangerous to those who receive it. Forget what people tell you about the need to make education free.

When people pay nothing for education, they usually don’t value it. Free education can be applied for a short period after a disaster like war, but it should not be made a permanent thing.

What people should ask for is low school fees like most of us paid from primary school to the university, but not completely free education. In addition, scholarships can be given to some people based on exceptional performance or absence of capable sponsors.

Rather than any government embarking on free education, the better option is to revamp the educational infrastructure, employ the most intelligent people as teachers, pay the teachers better than most other professions, provide the best teaching aids, and make the learning environment enticing.

Nigerian example has shown that free education does not increase the literacy level of any state or zone. Free education actually does the opposite.
