De Jong of Barcelona will miss the season finale due to an ankle sprain
Just before halftime in Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over the Spanish champions at the Santiago Bernabeu, De Jong was taken out on a stretcher due to an injury he sustained from Fede Valverde tackle.
Barcelona announced on Monday that Frenkie de Jong will miss the remainder of the season due to an ankle strain he sustained during the weekend’s La Liga Clasico.
The Dutch international is anticipated to be ready for Euro 2024 in the summer, despite reports from Spanish media that he will miss about five weeks of action.
Barcelona released a statement stating, “Tests conducted on Monday have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong has sprained his right ankle,” without estimating how long he would be absent.
