NIGERIAN YOUTHS SHOULD YOU FAIL AGAIN

NIGERIAN YOUTHS SHOULD YOU FAIL AGAIN?

The die is cast and we count down to the polls with increasing uncertainty as to what the outcome will present. Even political analysts are divided in drawing rigid conclusions because, the facts and records are thwarted by fear, fight and flight. The election seem to be drowning everyone’s energy simply because their lies quantum of threats that have propensity to unleash mayhem.

The Nigeria State has been surviving from less merit than grace from God. The benevolence we have got now is the opportunity of being a united nation despite the oddity of our striving circumstances. A mass number of youths across the states of the federation have been denied everything except incentives to execute the plans of the Merchants’ of Democracy.

History has being serviced by these corrupt politicians to suit their profile; with their doctored personality they market themselves for credible portfolios. Acting like gods that cannot be refused, they insist with all impunity for their election into the seat of power. When politicians threaten, be assured that they have amassed some youths somewhere that guarantees the threats. The average Nigerian youth, beclouded by joblessness and hunger is now ironically the electioneering tool used by dubious politicians to buy insurance for their investment in campaigns.

Election violence has been part of our history in Nigeria, leading to loss of lives, properties and economy collapse. Never in any of the violence, was any of the master minders hurt to the level of their properties. The fragile nature of our youths has been sustained over the years and is expected to remain that way. This is because these politicians know how to exploit the youths, especially during the elections where the demands of Nigerians are high and unfortunately selfish.

The young minds, known for optimism and creativity has been conditioned by the deficiencies of their needs into frivolity, about as high as 65% of our youths are nonchalant about the redemption of this country. According to their popular opinion, this country is beyond redemption. Politicians through their underground agencies have sold certain ideologies to our youths. The bitter pill they serve is meant to protect their interest and make their enemies become the enemy of Nigeria.

Like the TV documentary, the youths are the protectors of Nigeria’s posterity. If we are wiser, this time we shall decease from becoming the destroyer of our future. A tangible reason why no youth should volunteer as an agent of violence this year would be that, none of them is worth it. Remember this, your live is paramount to your family. As it is right now neither Gen. Buhary nor President Goodluck knows you by name, to these famous elite you might be as distant as a foreigner.

I have watched tapes of pre-election and post-election violence with stunning interest, battling at understanding what the youths I view on-screen seem to be angry about? Is it really the marginalization of their candidates or the hunger in their stomach? Because most of these youths don’t look like they know what they are fighting for. Only what they can recall is that they want their man. Of course they will want the man who has been feeding them and providing them with enough items that will ensure they grow from human beings into wild wolves. They only fight because they’ve been asked to fight, as the only way to assessing some vane promise. These promises most often are denied right before them as soon as they execute the assignment given them. Am sure some had learn from their experiences.

The youths of Nigeria have failed themselves more often because politicians have not changed. They have not failed at presenting the same temptation to the bulgy eyes of our teaming youthful population. The will to resist has also decline over the years because of the rise in demands accompanied by decline in supply to meet these needs. Such that avenue that presents themselves to earn one a dime seem to become an opportunity demanding our thoughtlessness.

We can always grow beyond our weakness even though it is not meant to be easy. What is the worst fear of the Nigerian youth? The fear of survival I guess! The reason we cannot afford to fail is because, we are too precious to be wasted. Our destiny lies more in our decision to be free than be bond to the chain of fear. I beg every youth, who knows the value of scarifies to developed nations of the world to be willing to say NO to any form of violence.

The transformation we seek in Nigeria will never come by arms but might just surface with an enduring will to dialogue our minds. We shall keep talking, for even the world in its beauty, came into form by word of mouth. There is more power in rejecting small prizes born by sentiment as compared to the bigger benefit of enduring some challenges till it fades off for our better good.

Believe it or not, this country cannot be repaired by a magician. We shall need people who are willing to accept the reality of our weakness and be patient enough to transform them into strength. I know some of our youths have resolved to do the right thing, as their own quota towards sustaining democracy. There is the need for a greater of the youth population to stick to their inner voice calling for PEACE. We can get all we want but without peace we have lost it all. Similarly we can loss all we have but with peace we can gain them all.

We are Nigerian youths, we are a creative people, we are intelligent, we love peace and above all we are happy people. Let us make a difference as we head for the February polls, in this great year 2015.
