An Open Letter to Lieutenant General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma – Appeal for Justice on the Encroachment of My Lands for your Academy -By Professor Okike Benjamin

If other well-to-do Nigerians will do likewise by establishing companies where many Nigerians will be gainfully engaged, the crime rates would definitely decrease to a barest minimal.

Dear Sir,

I am making a passionate appeal to you that my lands which you have acquired for your academy be adequately compensated. I got these lands mostly in 2001 when my salary was about twenty-eight (28,000) naira as an Assistant Lecturer in Computer Science Department, University of Abuja.

As a man of integrity and a philanthropist who sacrificed so much to keep Nigeria united, I know you can compensate me for these 6 plots of lands (Plot 5058 CKC Extension, Plot 4751 CKC Extension, Plot 5056 CKC Extension, Plot 5454 CKC Extension, Plot 5705C CKC Extension and Plot A593 CKC Extension) which your academy has acquired for the purpose of establishing an academy. As a teacher in the Department of Computer Science, I believe I may be a direct beneficiary of this academy when fully operational. Even if I am not called upon as one of those to kick start the Computer Science Department in your academy, I know that many Nigerians would be employed by the academy, thereby reducing the unemployment rate as well as the rate of crime in Nigeria. If other well-to-do Nigerians will do likewise by establishing companies where many Nigerians will be gainfully engaged, the crime rates would definitely decrease to a barest minimal.

It is possible you compensated the owners of the plots of lands affected through either Gwagwalada Area Council that allocated those plots of land or Federal Capital Development Authority. However, I will let you know that the real owners of the plots of lands were not considered in any way.

My appeal is that you compensate the rightful owners of the plots of lands directly. Attached to this open letter are the Plots of lands Offer Letters and Certificates of Occupancies (C of Os). These plots of lands were all verified by the Abuja Geographical Information System (AGIS).

Thanks for your anticipated cooperation as I wait for your prompt action on this matter.
Yours faithfully,
