Isaiah 26:20 KJV

”Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast”.

Despite restrictions placed on social gatherings and worship centres by the federal government, in a bid to avoid endangering lives, Christians in the cross country defied the advice and went out in droves to various churches for the usual Sunday service and other religious activities.

While some  churches provided hand sanitizers and water at their entrances, subjecting worshipers to wash their hands and apply sanitizers before entering for worship others disregarded the directive.

The directive thus simple, ” All gatherings at religious worship centres, night clubs and public gatherings that are above 50 persons are to be suspended .”
This was with total dismay that many churches  cross Nigeria failed to adhere to government directive on curbing the covid 19 pandemic. The  disease is raging like wildfire and killing people in scores and more are in throes of death while some Nigerians see it as child’s play or others a hoax.

But our clergymen chose to do otherwise because they are above the government displaying their ignominious and irresponsible attitudes while the educated members also congregated to showing how their nativity, gullibility and how brainwashed they are.

In the Bible, there was a Passover night which  can be likened to self- isolation or social distancing however, today’s Pastors instate of telling their members this, will rather dish out gibberish that, you can come to church thereby exposing their insensitivity to  the issue at hand and disregarding the authority of the land.

No doubt God can heal any diseases but before you claim your prowess of supernatural over the natural  ensure you can operate like the old Apostles, John G. Lake, and Smith Wigglesworth who were daredevils in their days. John Lake as it was told of him ,was said to have ”currents power” in his body which vibrates intensely and any drop of bacteria on his being diesinstantly, while Smith experienced healing of a ruptured appendix and strongly believed God had endowed him with a special gift of healing appendicitis. He was  credited with raising the dead on several occasions. So, until we have such clergymen like the daredevil  stop endangering your church members’ lives for the sake of money.
Romans 13:1-3 KJV [1] … Let every soul be subject unto the higher a powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers b that be are ordained d of God.

[2] Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. [3] For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same”.

Albeit, many of the clergymen are recalcitrants but in the spirit of curbing this deadly disease, I appeal that they should obey this directive so that they can prove to the rest of us that it is not just about tithes and offerings because the break is just a month of observation not a whole year.

And like Olaleye  Olawale would say the issue is between Men of God and God of men. Men of God obeyed government but God of men disobeyed government.
