In 2011 when he lost his second term bid, those who knew what was at stake couldn’t help but cry doom for their beloved Oyo state. As the ignorant few were busy cheering and chanting songs of oppression, it was like mourning around the very many who have eyes and can see beyond the focal length. Both indigents and residents perceived crash as it were but no one could change what had been. For the benefit of doubt however, people build hope out of hopelessness and waited to see why their ever flourishing state wouldn’t be a mess. Hence, the need to study the momentum of change, quality, and magical ascension was paramount after May 29, 2011.

Like a man who knew his worth, Alao Akala wasn’t bothered about what went wrong. Even as his defeat was found to be coated with enormous correlation of hypocritical escalation, Akala was never interested in brooding over a spilled cream. Instead, he mentioned in his speech to his many supporters to give room for peace, and pledges his total support to the incoming government. He stated clearly that genuine sacrifice, true love, and selfless leadership would fail only in the absence of posterity.

Upon taking over the mantle of leadership, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi was already swimming in a pool of probation. People wanted him to prove himself worthy of the position and erase their pre-existing doubt. However, there are few questions which must be considered and understood in this session. First, Did Ajimobi ever cared what people’s impression of him was? And if he does, at what point did he tried to change people’s impression of himself or his administration? Lastly, I will love to know why in any government will genuine criticism count less. Criticism I must say is information, and no information is completely useless if a government must succeed.

It is approximately four years now since the last general election and not many in Oyo state will not truly wonder how they have survived. Yes God, but with the pains, and agony that many have passed through it has been like hell greater than imagination. Now like yesterday, Nigerians are at it again and the whole world wants to see how it goes especially at the presidential level. However, the same is what goes across individual states and I must say that Oyo is one big story the whole nation awaits with eager minds. But what makes Oyo on the list of public interest is no one but the giant man with giant achievements. The return of Alao Akala is the big issue that awaits celebration come may 29.

I do not want to sound too supportive but the state of the state would not allow me. Across the nooks and crannies of Oyo state is the sound of Alao Akala, and when you ask why, what you get is the same answer. There was comfort, development, peace, good life, economical growth, and hope for the common man. Many people testified him as a performer, a relentless achiever, and a selfless servant. In little words, he is a man of the people.

I will if I can paint him better than a sugar refinery! But for those who do not know I will refer you to 151 reasons Akala should be back. This is a book of achievements as published four years ago, and many have joined the list after then. I once said nothing tell a man’s worth better than his absence. Akala is a living testimony to that fact and I believe there is more to come.
Flaunt it they say when you’ve got it. The entire Oyo have got the man they wanted and they are ready to shout it out. Others should do the same with their products please!
