#BREXIT UK exit EU

The victory of the Leave EU Campaign #Brexit might be the most shocking news of the decade because of its implications for nations, governments and human civilization. The #Brexit victory is a victory for the freedom to live as you want, to keep what you make and not to have a government or a group of individuals interfere in every aspect of your life.

Since the turn of the decade, the systematic change in citizens behaviour is resulting in a non – violent and modern way of revolting. People are no longer satisfied with allowing their government decide the path to follow. Citizens and voters are now deciding their destinies via revolutionary votes. Call it any name, the #Brexit victory is a reflection of the power citizens votes carry. First, we had the Arab Spring, the 2015 elections in Nigeria, Donald Trump GOP Nomination and now the victory of #Brexit. This illustration gives a simple explanation – citizens and voters are getting angrier and governments are losing their grasp on the populace because the systems operated are not favourable. You might call it anything, but being angry is one part, displaying your anger is another story entirely.

In Nigeria, the #BREXIT message came at the right time. The 2012 #Occupy Nigeria campaign over fuel subsidy and the 2015 general election has shown that Nigerians are making their votes count and their voices heard. I am personally inspired by the #BREXIT victory. It shows the world is embracing the non – violent and revolutionary stage of human progress. The rich are getting richer, the middle class is non – existent and the working and poor are left behind. Now, the rich will get weary and governments will panic. The message is clear and straight forward. And the people are saying NO, THIS MUST NOT CONTINUE. The victory of BREXIT is a vote against elitism where ordinary citizens don’t feel they don’t belong. It is a vote that tells our Abuja politicians that they must listen to us. Whether we like it no not, whether our politicians want it or not, the message the #BREXIT victory has given to Nigerians is loud and clear – WE MUST TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK
