Buhari, Tinubu’s Aspiration And The Villa Oracles -By Abdu Abdullahi
Buhari’s political journey will soon come to a halt and will be defined by two eminent tragedies. One is the betrayal of Nigerians who offered their supreme sacrifices for him to fulfill his campaign promises to better their lives. However, he succeeded only in making our living more difficult.

All is not ending well with President Muhammadu Buhari as his 8-year-rule draws to a tragic end. Recently enacted episode has unveiled that the president is enmashed in the menace of some prophetic oracles in the Villa. They are seemingly poised to blackmailing Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s aspiration.
A famous conspiracy theory has it that the Villa cabals are the architects of the sudden policy of the obnoxious new naira design with its attendant untold hardships which have engulfed Nigerians and crippled economic activities. This is in addition to the lingering long queues for fuel and its exorbitant prices. It is widely consented that the main thrust of their political vendetta is to create turmoils and frustrate Tinubu’s political interest in the elections.
Their calculated agenda is that, very close to the polls, the common man has been coerced into carrying the basket of troubles that will over burden him to forfeit elections. It is this eleventh hour plundering of the goodwill of Nigerians by the Buhari government perpetuated by the ill-motivated orchestration of the Villa demons that Tinubu is challenging as a purposeful sinister to impede the journey of his political aspirations. It is this core political note that the northern APC governors are disseminating to the Villa oracles to make peace with the party.
The fact remains that the domineering Villa oracles engage themselves in this political brinkmanship to assert their supremacy as the de facto rulers of the country. In fact, they are rulers without electorate mandate. How the APC finds itself into this conundrum of a divided house is the handiwork of the cabals. And Buhari’s unlimited ineptitude has made a large contribution to this political uneasiness. While the nation is thrown into unnecessary predicament and difficulties to serve the will of the oracles, the most devastating legacy they will bequeath to us is likely to plunge the nation into a series of national crises, like an explosive drama triggered by tragedies. It could be a disgusting permutation of the invulnerable conspirators that the unfolding events may lead into civil disobedience and disturbance which can propel the Buhari presidency declare a state of emergency and prolong their power through his powerlessness.
To achieve their ultimate objective of monopolising power, danger signals such as spontaneous riots have already broken out in some parts of the country. However, Tinubu has unravelled their scheming and cautioned them to refrain from this political machination. Governor El-rufai had declared them guilty of political infidelity as power is supposed to move to the south in the APC plan. But then, is it a re-enactment of the EndSARS riots to satisfy their prophetic oracles that it is only when blood of Nigerians are sacrificed that they can perpetuate and sustain their dooms? The oracles’ shenanigans has been laid bare. They are extremely fury because their loved presidential candidates lost the primary election of the APC to Tinubu. For this alone, Tinubu has committed a political sin and must atone for it together with other Nigerians.
History, after all, will never be dead not to give us narrations of events. Buhari and the constituted oracles witnessed how Tinubu deployed his political dexterity to midwife the merger baby that saw a humongous unity in politics. Going through Buhari’s political odyssey, he could not sight the light at the end of the tunnel. After several years of fruitless efforts to make it as a president, even his sterling integrity could not give him power, even his quality honesty failed him many times at the polls. He was frustrated, hopeless and helpless. Even the oracles then were politically bankrupt to fix him. It was then that Tinubu came to his aid and assisted him to fulfill his life ambition of ruling Nigeria for the second time.
Like an army general, Tinubu fought an intensive political war for Buhari, now in agbada, during the APC primaries in preparation for the 2015 elections. He ensured the southwest delegates supported him. Not only that, he utilized all the resources at his disposal to create a new citizen out of Buhari, a fresh compatriot who would not be seen as an ethno-religious bigot in the southwest. Of course, the powerful media of that region did a marvelous job of rebranding Buhari from a regional politician to a trustworthy national democrat. Tinubu singlehandedly marketed and sold the ‘Buhari political product’ in the southwest. This was a feat the ambitious oracles could not attain.
But Buhari has goofed arbitrarily. He has willingly discarded Tinubu’s past labour which he has now rendered as being in vain and chosen the cabals as his political allies instead. Buhari’s political catastrophe of not balancing political morality means that posterity will indict him for betrayal. But from his revolt against Tinubu, Buhari is suggesting that there is no moral contract in his politics and that of Tinubu. And this is a demonstration of a bad example from a leader who claims that integrity is his strength.
Buhari’s political journey will soon come to a halt and will be defined by two eminent tragedies. One is the betrayal of Nigerians who offered their supreme sacrifices for him to fulfill his campaign promises to better their lives. However, he succeeded only in making our living more difficult. Two, the betrayal of his political mentor Tinubu is an awkwardly exhibited article of political faith. This faith is now slanted and shifted to the cabals whose interest is above the nation.
While believing that Tinubu no longer owes him any political liability because he has fulfilled his life greatest ambition, how will Buhari feel if it were now his turn after he had made sacrifices for Tinubu to be the president and he is eventually betrayed? I found it amusing when Buhari could not exhibit reciprocal attribute by asserting that Nigerians should vote for whomsoever they like. After the successful delivery of the APC, Buhari was the pioneer beneficiary, thanks to Asiwaju. Unfortunately, the president is now alone, without the spirit of merger in him, without the thought of the man who firmly stood by him at the needy hours of his political career.
The cabals widespread influence has been soaring at an alarming proportion. Unlike the No 1 Law of Robert Greene’s controversial book, The 48 Laws of Power, clearly stating that never outshine the master, the oracles of the Villa are oblivious of this and have obstructed Buhari’s horizon to see his superiority. They have exposed their talents before Buhari and they feel not insecure. Many people’s take on Buhari’s political temperament is that he is not informed by relevant political knowledge to liberate himself from the shackles of these characters.
For Buhari, the genre of political lament should be his political reconstruction to actually recognize the oracles as great players in his failure. For the APC governors of the North in particular, they will be battling at many fronts. However, the most cumbersome of this is how to repel the invading political onslaught on Tinubu by the cabals.
