The Country has been kept afloat within the past 4 months with no direction of focus on matters demanding the attention of Mr President, in person. The Vice President who have demonstrated his charismatic leadership prowess in handling the affairs of the Nigeria State, still finds the need to decline attending to some pressing demands on the desk of the President. Though it is assumed that in acting capacity, the full powers of the president is exercised, that might just be the assumption that has made a mirage of the prevailing realities of our country.

The return of the President which was hoped will put all the hitch to rest has instead opened up new chapter of worries amongst concerned Nigerians. Mr President shocked the world when he said he was coming into the country to rest while the Vice President was to continue in his acting capacity. Till this very moment, it has not behold on the President as obligatory to inform Nigerians on his health challenge.

Nigeria is a nascent democracy that is still fragile but, has suffered the worst form of falsehood enterprising in this regime. The political climate is charged with the mantra of CHANGE while in its pre-occupation has left the atmosphere cladded with clamour for CHANGE in leadership by concerned Nigerians both at home and in diaspora.

It is now more obvious than it was 3 months earlier that PMB is not in a good state of health. A health status that will not allow the President function in the least means necessary is indeed a case subject to a call for resignation. The choice he has before him is singular but the decision he has to make has four fold impact. The choice will be to declare his health status to Nigerians and resign or keep the health status a secrete and resign all the same.

The decision to opt for any of the choices above, leaves him with the under-listed impacts:

– The very essence of his personality as CHANGE AGENT will be restored.

– Win the love of Nigerians who wish he suffers not the will to lead with ill health. A sick country diseased by corruption cannot be cured by a sick president, its simply logical to decipher.

– Narrow the chances of a more pathetic and undeserving exit of the prestigious office which has suffered defame within the last three months.

– Give PMB the opportunity to attend to himself without the interference of State affairs which he so unreservedly deserve considering his age.

It is far more honourable to give up the seat of the office of the President than give up to the ills dictated by the cabal that has hijacked the first Executive seat of power in Nigeria. We await the goodwill of PMB as he resolve to make the right choice that will stand in trust for him in posterity.

The present circumstances is cumbersome and burdensome for Nigeria to bear without repercussion. We are already confronted with a ‘sick nation’ under surgery. The resolve by PMB all the while to hold forth in silence with health affair yet unable to handle the demands of his office has been stretched to the endurable limits of Nigerians.

There is no harm done now, should PMB resolve to salvage the image of Nigeria from the enemies of our democracy which we had nurtured by sacrifice.
