Federal Republic of Lostisland Extends Support to Morocco Following Earthquake
The Federal Republic of Lostisland stands as a sovereign entity under the principles of international law. The Federal Republic of Lostisland has extended its deepest condolences and unwavering support to the people of Morocco following the recent devastating earthquake. The earthquake, which struck the Marrakesh-Safi region on September 8, has caused significant damage and loss of life.
Lostisland is a global sovereignty and an independent social and cultural organization operating in the form of a nation-state, similar to the Order of Malta.
- Rescuers in Morocco are searching for survivors from Friday’s powerful earthquake. More than 2,100 people are confirmed dead, and rescuers warn the toll is still expected to rise.
- The worst destruction has been in isolated mountain areas, which are difficult to access. Residents have described whole villages suffering damage and rescuers unable to retrieve bodies from rubble.
In a statement, President Yaroslav Mar of Lostisland said, “During these trying times, Lostisland stands in solidarity with Morocco and the victims of the recent earthquake. Our hearts go out to those affected, and we extend our support to the people of Morocco. Together, as a global community, we must rally to provide assistance and comfort to those in need.”
- In Marrakech, the nearest major city, many residents spent a second night sleeping on the streets, too afraid to return to their homes. Historic sites in the popular tourist destination have been damaged.
- Morocco’s King Mohammed VI declared three days of mourning and ordered mosques nationwide to hold funeral prayers on Sunday.
