For the LG elections, Katsina APC sets nomination form fees
The APC deputy chairman declared that primary elections for council chairmen will take place on Saturday, May 18, and that elections for council members will take place on Wednesday, May 22. He made this announcement by citing clauses from the election schedule released by SIEC.
The nomination form price for candidates running for the position of local government chairman is five million naira, according to the Katsina State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following a meeting of the working committee, other state executives, and party chairmen and secretaries from the 34 local governments, which took place at the presidential banquet hall of Katsina Government House, Katsina APC Deputy Chairman Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa verified this.
He said that candidates for council member seats will have to pay a N1.5 million (one million five hundred thousand naira) registration fee.
All money for the forms must be sent straight into the party’s account, Alhaji Bala Abu stressed.
He did, however, clarify that this year’s form sales will start on May 1 and run through May 4.
He further stated that by Thursday, May 9, all competitors must send their completed forms back to SIEC.
