I always imagine if the situation of the fuel price, which was brushed in by the removal of fuel subsidy is becoming a bygone issue or presently a concern problem. The song of Fela Anikulapokuti title ‘suffering and smiling’ release in the 1970s was a very true and conditional song, that, Fela sang that remains in the archive of Afrobeat.

This song which was recorded in 1977 and release in 1978 actually address the condition of Nigeria to these present days; in fact is a true picture of what we are really experiencing, even till now. The condition of the high cost of fuel price is putting, the citizen of this country in tight corner. In as much as the government is trying his best to address the case amicably, let remember that this issue is beating heavily on the life of Nigerians. You can agree with me, that, since this problem started both the rich and the poor are having their shares of the cake.

They had been adjustment in so many areas of life. Product adjustment in production companies, lifestyle adjustment and so on. The economics of this country is shaking as the government battle with the vibration of the shaking and the in conduciveness. What can we say about the cost of goods and services in the market is a story for another day, transportation fare is a pain-of-a stretch; especially interstate traveling is a serious tussle now, where transport fare had skyrocketed due to increase in fuel price.

Salaries of workers both private and public cannot meet up the needs of an individual and families, even, though some states are making the motion of salaries increments on workers’ both public and private workers and control of cost of commodities and introduction of palliative.

Now the question, because of removal of fuel subsidy which had landed us in this dung, is there a way forward? We know the president had heap a lot of promises to alleviate this problems and, to see how many Nigerian can come out of these destabilizing shape, we are waiting. How far are the committees enacted to handle this problem effective?

Let remember that empowering people with money and other necessary items is very useful and very important, but, this can only solve an immediate problem or for a short term not for a long term, because, if a person is given one million naira as empowerment and the fuel prices is not address it will be a struggle for them to fully established themselves.
