Gender inequality -By Mukadam Hawau Oluwakemi

Gender imbalance or disparity ranting is all over the world and it’s an issue worth paying attention to. Gender inequality mostly started from home because the belief of a male child has value more than a female is still in the heart of some parents, this made them *cherish* their male than a female child. This draw me to the concept of land policy; the paternalism concept which portrays that if a male child is born in a community of which the father of the child is the native of the land, the male child is automatically entitled to enjoy the fruit and interest of the land. Where do they place a female child? Many people believe the life of a female child ends in the kitchen. Have they forgotten what a man can do a woman can do much better but women are lessened to merely house helpers in the realm of gender disparities in spite we being substantial?
I happen not to be a fan of politics and not for once developing interest in it and never hold any leadership position before but I have seen many women whom society had denied their right and stands to be the astrology of their lives to state what and whom they’ll or wanted to become which has drowned many females potential like a stone thrown into an ocean. Visit the page of Titilope Anifowoshe on Twitter @d_legal Eagle, to see her piece “Women in leadership” see the path she trails in becoming a leader as a female.
The mission and vision of many women have been hanged due to gender imbalance in relation to job opportunities. This discrimination bounces a decrease in income for women because some society believes men are competent to deal with a certain position in the division of employment opportunities. Most especially, in the Northern part, no value is rendered to females, their rights and opportunities are being seized. *Omar Muaz* said in one of his articles that in promoting sustainable development, in any given country, there’s a need for quality education and education is the act of imparting knowledge and skills in which the latter can be imparted to others particularly, the younger generation. There should be an expansion in child girl education as it is said we are the shoulders and joints and as well the citation of social and economic development.
Nation considered a female child as an inferior being and denied the freedom of child girl in terms of academic and sees the male child as the builder and leader of tomorrow.
Other problems have a name but gender inequality is not a problem but a collection of problems that have no name nonetheless, society sees it as minor not major.
Gender inequality arises from traditions and customs, *Kofi Annan* said “Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It’s a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development, building good governance, and reduce poverty”. As we consider gender equality as the best solution, however, the placement of women in the traditionally male duty and stances of leadership should not be underestimated.
” It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets opposing ideals”. Emma Watson.
