Greatness Is Prof. Yemi Osinbajo -By Isa Salisu

Before I get into this can we pause for just a moment to appreciate the wholly awesomeness that one teacher you’ll always remember brings. Prof Yemi Osinbajo, I’m not actually talking about what he did just both before and after leaving office as the vice president, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Yes as vice president he went on and won the game. Yes as a father to the nation, he went every single day, to feed the kids of the nation the motivation his speech got, which encouraged us to strive for better. Either way, am using this article to draw from these formative experiences and write about the people who taught us things, or ought to. Those that inspire others to make bold changes that really matter.

The inspiration for this one came from Prof Yemi Osinbajo spoken word poetry titled “GREATNESS IS NIGERIA” if you know it though for those of you who were excited to read this article thinking is about politics am sorry to disappoint you as it’s not. This is a personal thing, yes, but it’s a big day for those names when the call finally arrived and you see your name in actual place in the sun. Those names features so often in our stories and our imaginations.

Nigeria, home to over 200 million people and 36 different states plus Capital city, Nigeria is a vast and diverse continent featuring bustling cities, remote villages, lush rainforests and slightly arid desert region with a rich tapestry of cultures, languages, and traditions. Though despite all its challenges, the country produce some big names that never fails to fascinate and inspire. From advocacy to art, identity, and even music, The continent most populous country has seen a positive surge in entrepreneurial activities, where young Nigerian’s take the lead.

You Can’t Know What’s Happening in a Man’s heart but the heart do beat sometimes even faster. Those names took me through a transforming experience that I assume my life on that book with chapters that cut the headlines. I bear on my mind I carry a weight, over 200 million burdens on my back. Am not a leader but also a leader the vision that clears the way is the dream. The book of dream you wrote will only sell and cut the headlines at that moment, you realized your own skill, our pride and your potential. Our resilience defines our future. The issue of unemployment is very intricate one, but it is not insurmountable. You can turn that but before that you have put in countless hours of hard work and dedication to make it to your destination. You can look to Nigerian comedians like Basketmouth and Bovi started out as unemployed youths before making it in life. Successful entrepreneurs like Aliko Dangote and Tony Elumelu are inspiration and guidance, Sporting activities successful Nigerians like Tobi Amudan, Ahmad Musa, Mikel Obi and Haruna Quadri. The musical sector Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, DJ Ab, Tiwa Savage and a lot more are doing the country proud on the niches they’ll belonged to. Let’s take a cue from Hilda Baci effort, who’s bravely write her own story and fearlessly dive into the adventure. The entire world glued to their screens and watched Hilda as she embarked on a mind-blowing journey and set a brand-new record for the longest Cook-a-thon ever! It’s incredible, and big time for not only Nigeria but Africa. Greatness is Nigeria!!!

Want to be like any of them? You need to take advantage of this by developing your innovative ideas and starting on your own way. You can look to successful inspiration and guidance. As I always say “Recreating someone’s victory is also victory but creating yours on your own way brings the greatness on you, the uniqueness on you”. Through perspectives of those names from different parts of Nigeria forming voices that speaks louder at the lowest volumes is good sign which I believe that by coming together, we can build the Nigeria we envision. It’s a great pleasure to honour and salute our beautiful country together.

So, I urge you to embrace the unknown and seize every opportunity and remember, Life is all about change, Adaptability is the alignment that balances the wheel of our lives no matter what direction the wind blows. Life is full of surprises, and the beauty lies in authoring your own extraordinary story. So, let’s hear it from you too. My name is not there yet so yours but surely one day, might be tomorrow. Who knows? Just Never Forget that Greatness is Nigerian. Yes Nigerian!!
