Modupe Onitiri-Abiola: MKO Abiola’s Widow Who Eroded Late Husband’s Legacy With Yoruba Secession Declaration
While some Yoruba Nation leaders saw her as a goof and distanced themselves from her, one of MKO Abiola’s sons – Jamiu Abiola – said on behalf of the Abiola family that she is on her own. Now on the run, it remains to be seen whether she will continue with agitation or not.

It’s been two and a half decades since the death of MKO Abiola who became a National symbol of democracy towards the end of his life. Sadly, however, that legacy is eroded by his widow Modupe Onitiri-Abiola who attempted to subvert the democracy her late husband stood for.
