Hadiza Gabon’s Show: My Views -By Mukhtar Garba Kobi

Hadiza’s show is more popular than those of others, viewers always commend her efforts through comments. The type of people she invite as well as two people to choose section, these legacies should be maintained as they add more value to the show. Knowing fully that Hadiza is not proficient in Hausa language, since the show is mainly in Hausa, too much use of English should be minimized, the questions that were thrown to Shehu Ajilo using some English words were inappropriate.

I watched with nostalgia an interview which Hadiza Gabon had with Ibrahim Birniwa, first of all, people need to bear in minds that she is not a professional or trained journalist. It is now a norm in Northern Nigeria that whoever want to do something new is set to face antagonism, he or she therefore must be ready for both commendation and criticism; the criticisms to the person should be stepping stones to grow higher.

My point here is that, Hadiza and her team are trying but they should rejig the kind of Questions to ask guests. Anything that will raise dust afterward should be shunned, deep personal life or privacy of a person should not be exposed to the public and when guests dodged questions, there is no need to insist the way she did to Elmu’az Birniwa. People’s criticisms should not discourage her, she should double her effort and skip ambiguous questions or irrelevant issues.
