In the midst of my university journey, I encountered a remarkable individual named Ishaq Saleh during my 200 level days. His admission into ABU as a Direct Entry student of Computer Science marked the beginning of an extraordinary friendship. Despite his physical challenges, Ishaq possessed an unwavering spirit, radiating energy and dexterity that left a lasting impression on me.

I can vividly recall the daily struggles he faced, particularly when it came to attending lectures held on the upper floors. Climbing those stairs was an arduous task for him, but he defied the odds and pushed himself to conquer them. Upon his return, his legs adorned with bandages and medicine, he would wear a victorious smile that spoke volumes about his resilience. There was even a time when he sustained an injury while ascending those stairs. The path he walked was far from easy.

Amidst it all, Ishaq’s devotion to his faith shone brightly. He was a constant presence in the mosque, engaging in prayer and attentively listening to insightful Tafsir sessions. His Islamic knowledge was profound, and he had an impressive ability to memorize chapters and verses from the Quran. I still remember the recitation session we had together; his rendition was awe-inspiring. It was a testament to his exceptional prowess both academically and spiritually.

Today, as he celebrates his graduation and completion of the National Youth Service Corps, I cannot help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and joy for my dear friend, Ishaq. Masha Allah, Mallam Ishaq, your journey has been nothing short of awe-inspiring. You have overcome obstacles that many would deem insurmountable, leaving a trail of inspiration in your wake.

May your indomitable spirit continue to inspire others to triumph over adversity. Your story serves as a powerful reminder that strength lies within, and with determination, we can surmount any challenge. Here’s to you, Ishaq Saleh, a beacon of resilience and a testament to the extraordinary heights one can reach, irrespective of life’s hurdles.
