Following the acquisition of a brand-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft by Ibom Air, the airline has concluded plans to terminate its wet-leased aircraft operations.

A statement signed by the GM, Marketing and communication of Ibom Air, Aniekan Essienette, noted that with the imminent entry into service of the A220, the work of their two wet-leased Airbus A320s would be brought to an end.

Essienette also stated that the transition from the wet-leased aircraft would lead to a reduced flight schedule for a few weeks as the first two recently acquired A220s will be phased into service.

“We apologize in advance for any inconvenience our reduced schedule may cause as we transition into a period of better and stable all round service, with these new equipment.”
