36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has made a sensational return to Old Trafford after a dramatic turn down on Manchester City in the later hours of Friday.

The premier league champions, Manchester City, have been in talks with the five-time Ballon D’or winner since Thursday after their deal to sign Harry Kane fell through. But it was later confirmed that no agreement was reached between the club and the player.

It was on the bid that the Red Devils joined the race to bring back their one-time talisman. Winning Ballon D’or, three premier league titles and a champions league with the club, Cristiano Ronaldo had played for Manchester United between 2003-2009. The former Juventus star left United for Real Madrid in 2009, where he spent nine seasons before moving to the Turin based club, Juventus.
