Katsina 2023: No Option Better Than Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa -By Mallam Muhammad Sani Isah

Competence, character, compassion, and commitment these values are four major attributes to look out for when considering who will successed Governor Aminu Masari. Katsina at this time clearly needs upright individual with enduring experience and energy to take over the baton after Masari.

Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa was a home-grown politician of modest character. If it is about competence in the business of governance having served in various capacities under three governors of the state. He is well-known for good tracked records in public Service from being the General Manager of katsina State Transport Authority, sole administrator, commissioner of education and three terms secretary to the state Government.
When he was General Manager K.S.T.A.

In the year 2000 Dr Mustapha was Appointed as General manager of katsina State Transport Authority [KSTA], within a short period of time, he transformed the agency to became one of the leading transport authorities in Nigeria, his legacy formed a solid foundation in the state’s transportation sector to date, having put the state’s transport authority on the right track. Late Governor Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was very impressed with his performance as General Manager K.S.T.A.

When he was Sole Administrator Danmusa Local Government.

Mustapha was persuaded to go back to his hometown Danmusa as a local Government sole administrator, at the expiration tenure of then local Government councils he proved himself as exemplary leader where he rehabilitated all dilapidated primary schools, as well introduced personal scholarship scheme to Danmusa local Government indigenes, he also took the responsibility of feeding patients who were admitted in Danmusa General hospital and also intensified the security situations in the local Government. He repaired all their broken down vehicles he also introduced allowances to the ward head known as “Masu unguwanni” he introduced and maintained retainership with Federal medical centre, Danmusa General hospital and other private hospitals to the indigenes who have severe sickness cases. Patients are given free medical Treatment.

Towards the end of his tenure, he was able to settle all outstanding liabilities owned to the local Government, thereby, leaving the local Government in debt free before his exit from office.

When he was the Honorable Commissioner of Education.

In 2003, after Governor Umaru Musa Yar’adua was re-elected, he developed more confidence in Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa and appointed him the Honorable Commissioner of Education. Then, he took the portfolio with a serious dedication to transform the sector. His efforts subsequently yield positive results especially on WAEC/NECO results of Secondary School students, where most students passed their examinations in flying colours, scoring above the required the pass-mark to secure admission in tertiary institutions.

Feeding standard was enhanced, schools expanions programme were given adequate attentions to accommodate the increase in students enrolments, teacher’s welfare was seriously prioritized, in fact, more substantial policies were introduced to improve the welfare of the teachers.

Under his watch as the state commissioner of education, he initiated more projects to level up the standard of education given to students, all secondary schools under his domain were equipped with technological devices; he provided computer laboratories and standby generators to various schools to help in facilitating better well-being of students schooling in Katsina state.
More so, employment of teachers becomes a continuous exercise in the state. Promotion assesments for teachers were taken into consideration. As a Commissioner of Education he was one of the pioneers who contributed immensely to the actualization of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University. The institution is now a glaring reality today with thousands of beneficiaries.

The lagacies he laid in the education sector remains the foundational pillar in which the subsequent commissioners are building upon. His excellent delivery as a commissioner of education got him appointed again to serve as the secretary to the state government by different state governors in Katsina state.

When he was Secretary to the state government phase I

Dr Mustapha was Appointed as Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) where he works closely with the Ambassador Abdullahi Garba Aminchi, completed and executed major Projects initiated by Late Governor Yar’Adua they handled the transition programs and campaigns of former Governor Barr. Ibrahim Shem hema who successfully emerged and was sworn in as Governor of Katsina State on 29 May 2003.

When he was Secretary to the state government phase II

His excellent delivery as a commissioner of education, General Manager got him appointed again to serve as the secretary to the state government by Governor Aminu Masari where he chair also all the committees set up by the Government, he worked closely with Masari And moved the State to the Next level where we weakness Massive General Rehabilitation and upgrading of almost all our primary and secondary schools in Katsina more so in Healthcare sectors also all our General Hospital upgrades to international standards.

On security challenges facing the state Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa was Appointed to chair the security Committee within a short period of time he Addressed the issues by Adopting different Approaches of Negotiation, peace keeping and sword Analysis despite the lack of cooperation from our neighbouring States Mustapha Addressed to issues where katsina State enjoyed lasting peace of almost two years. No doubt till date katsina State enjoying peace and is the most safest state in North West excluding kano.We calling on the Good peoples of Katsina to think,rethink, and decide on their future, I know the truth is bitter, and some decisions are hard to make, but going through his political style and good tracked record Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa is Natural successor of Governor Aminu Masari. May Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa succeed May katsina State succeed
