Ms Halima Kyari appointed as NAICOM Chairperson

Ms. Halima Kyari has been appointed as the National Insurance Commission’s (NAICOM) chair by President Bola Tinubu.

Olusegun Ayo Omosehin was appointed by the President as Commissioner for Insurance, according to a statement released on Friday by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

Mr. Olawoye Gam-Ikon, Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations), and Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada, Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration), are two additional experts nominated to the NAICOM board.

Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu, Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun, and Mr. Umar Khalifa Mohammed are the other members.

According to the statement, “The President expects the new Board of the National Insurance Commission to exercise utmost probity as it leads the commission in ensuring a safe, sound, and stable insurance sector, while protecting policyholders, the public interest, and improving trust and confidence in the sector.”
