Non-payment of salaries can be a significant issue for employees, often leading to financial hardship and dissatisfaction in the workplace. Employers have a legal obligation to pay their employees as per the agreed terms and schedules.

One of the most immediate and severe consequences of non-payment of salaries is the financial distress it causes employees. Monthly salaries are the primary source of income for most individuals, and without them, employees may struggle to meet their basic needs, such as paying rent, buying groceries, and covering medical expenses. This financial hardship can lead to stress, anxiety, and even long-term financial instability.

Recently, some workers “Over 700 of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies have lamented the non-payment of their 17-month salary arrears owed them by the board.

They also claimed that they had fulfilled all conditions to be captured on the integrated personnel payroll information system for the payment of salary as requested but had yet to receive their salary.”

Public Relations Officer of the agitated group Abdulsalam Ibrahim, alleged that some workers were selected and paid their salary, leaving out others, yes, some that have their relatives at the management level are on the payroll which leads to the removal of majority of the employees without giving them any tangible reasons.

Large number of workers are not on payroll, as a result of sentiment and corruption at the top management and they are aware of that scandalous situation without taking action.

In some cases, Labor unions can play a crucial role in advocating for employees’ rights and negotiating fair pay and working conditions. Open communication between employers and employees is vital for resolving salary-related issues and maintaining a positive work environment. Addressing such problems promptly is essential to prevent further negative consequences for both parties.
