Ngige Shows Up at APC Caucus Meeting Hours After Kuje Prison Release
Former Anambra governor Chris Ngige appeared at the APC caucus meeting in Aso Rock shortly after securing bail and being released from Kuje prison over EFCC corruption allegations.
Former Anambra State Governor and Senator, Chris Ngige, on Thursday attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, just hours after his release from Kuje Correctional Centre.
Ngige, who recently served as Minister of Labour and Employment, had been remanded in Kuje prison over corruption allegations brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was granted bail earlier in the day and subsequently met the bail conditions, paving the way for his release.
The former governor arrived at the State House Conference Centre shortly after President Bola Tinubu had taken his seat. He was momentarily stopped by security officials before being cleared to enter the meeting venue.
Ngige’s appearance drew cheers from some presidential aides present at the caucus meeting.
