Nigerians reply Rotimi Amaechi on social media

Nwoye Chidiebele wrote, “This man dey m—t, as if he doesn’t know what’s going on in Naija. Our votes don’t count, anybody who wants to be president, must become it by force. In Nigeria, the presidency is turn by turn and selection, not by voting.”

Rotimi Amaechi

From recent statements by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, it appears he does not want Nigerians to forget what they went through during the ex-President Buhari’s administration.

Sometime in October 2023, a video showing him blasting Nigerians for not reacting to anything anymore went viral. He blamed the passivity of citizens for politicians’ recklessness.

“…Has any politician told you he is not a thief? Which politician told you he went to university, which politician told you she served in NYSC and which politician told you he has his certificate? Nigerians know and still vote for them…? Those were his words and he got criticized seriously by Netizens for implying that their votes ever counted. They also concluded that since he’s been a politician, it means he indirectly told us about himself and his colleagues?

Amaechi has come again in 2024! During an interview with Arise TV, he said whatever Nigerians voted, is what they deserve. Haba! Is that the only way he can pity us in this dilemma? Social media users are angry with him.

They are asking if the former governor of Rivers state was not in Nigeria during the infamous February 25 Presidential elections not to have witnessed what happened. Did he not watch videos where some owners of the land prevented those they termed strangers from voting? By the way, why did he not speak out when people who complained or protested against bad governance in the administration he served, were mishandled by law enforcements? Amaechi should just leave the masses alone to nurse their wounds and struggle to stay alive in the midst of brutal hardship.

Reacting to the story on Vanguard Facebook page, Adeola Ibrahim Fagbemi wrote, “Nigerians’ votes didn’t count because of the last general election. Good people of Nigeria voted against the APC government but they gate-crashed into power by ‘stealing it, grabbing it, and running away with it; also assisted by our judiciary.”

”You very much know that our votes don’t count in this part of the world. Majority voted against what they’re seeing now but the cabals or powers that be upturned our votes and asked us to go to court where they’ve positioned their stooges to pass judgements based on how much you can pay,” Ekwueme Joseph wrote.
