Ooni Applauds Tinubu Over FCC Appointments
Describing the appointments as well-deserved, the Ooni said they reflect recognition of both individuals’ competence, integrity, and years of selfless service to Nigeria.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Ayo Omidiran as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday from the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife, the monarch also expressed gratitude to the President for naming Eludayo Eluyemi as the Federal Commissioner representing Osun State at the FCC.
Describing the appointments as well-deserved, the Ooni said they reflect recognition of both individuals’ competence, integrity, and years of selfless service to Nigeria.
He noted that Omidiran and Eluyemi would bring invaluable experience and a deep commitment to national unity in carrying out the FCC’s mandate of promoting fairness, equity, and inclusivity in public service.
“Omidiran’s track record of legislative service and grassroots development, coupled with Eluyemi’s dedication to public administration, leaves no doubt that they will uphold the principles of fairness and national cohesion that the commission represents,” the Ooni stated.
He called on both appointees to view their new roles not just as a call to serve Osun State, but as a sacred duty to the entire nation.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives, hails from Ikire in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
