Open Letter To Lauretta Onochie: Stop Insulting Bishop David Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, like everyone else, has a right to freedom of expression. He has a right to voice his opinions publicly. But what I don’t understand is why Onochie would attack the man of God for voicing his personal convictions? Perhaps, it is because the bishop is not one of the top politicians in the country.

Lauretta Onochie

Recently, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, insulted Bishop David Oyedepo for kicking against the Company and Allied Matters Acts in churches when she said that, “Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws!” What a rude way to correct a highly respectable man of God!

If it was a top politician that had said what Oyedepo said, I believe Onochie would be respectfully silent on the issue. Politicians only respect their own, not pastors. When pastors, bishops or prophets speak their mind, they are immediately castigated and insulted. Please the Presidency should stop insulting men of God for expressing their view.
