Open letter to the SUG President, University of Maiduguri -By Caleb Ijioma

It is with a sense of urgency that on behalf of the bothered students of Unimaid, I call on the student union president and his cabinet members to intervene on the recent increase of Tuition and Accommodation fees.

The fees are outrageous and came at a short notice. The fact is that majority can’t afford such fees especially with the present economic challenges, afterall the institution is a federal one .  
Some students might seek other negative alternatives as a result of the rapid increase which will eventually lead to more crime rates in the society. There are some students who are Sponsoring themselves.

How do you expect them to cope with such massive increase when they are expected to resume next week.

Some parents struggle hard to earn such fees and these increase will do nothing but inflict pain and hardship . We seriously desire that these increments be revoked.

Therefore, on behalf of the Students of Unimaid , I hereby call on the attention of the Student Union Government as the students advocate to take immediate action on this issue.
