Some students wouldn’t like any lecturers who acts in accordance with morality, integrity, honesty and showing recognition of right and wrong. If I tell you that Professor (Mrs) Asiyat Abubakar Bagudo is one of them, will you argue?. She was disliked by many students in the department of Adult Education and Extension Services, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto UDUS not because of anything but her principles and fundamental rules. Truly, Professor is a principled, pious, decent, active, dedicated, brilliant and committed lecturer and she takes no nonsense and refuses to accept bad or silly behaviours.

Initially, I personally developed a bad mindset towards her character during my first year as an undergraduate at the Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto UDUS then. I thought Dr. Asiyatu Bagudo was wicked, villainous and ungodly lecturer in the department with the way she always treated students. After I critically studied her, I realized that, she’s a good and principled person. may Allah forgive me for that negative thoughts towards her.

Towards the end of the second semester in my 100 level, we became good friends and the relationship started waxing stronger like a son and mother to the extent that I do have free access to her office. I was named by my coursemate as Yinka Omo Iya Bagudo. I for no reason missed her class for once and I always enjoyed her lecture presentations.

Professor’s lectures are always enjoyable, educative and interesting. Professor Bagudo possesses many good qualities and attributes that made her stand tall and became famous in the department and as well as faculty of Education. Professor Bagudo is an active, committed and workaholic lecturer in the department and she was the only lecturer who didn’t produce either handouts or materials but preferred “Speech To Text Note known as “Dictation” she do calls dictation instead of selling handouts.

She will asked us to submit our books for corrections and marking. She’ll properly check both our spellings, punctuation marks, and grammatical errors one after the other and our note books would be returned the next day in spite of her tight schedule and engagements.
