The fact of the case is within the knowledge of everybody that there is a case or cases in court pending the impeachment of Nyako. What are the sins of Governor Bindow? I can confidently say his focus on the change mantra to make positive impact in Adamawa and a reference point. Nyako’s name is just being bandied in to intimidate the sitting Government.

The EFCCs investigation trigged by petitions alleging massive looting of the treasury by Mr Nyako and his cronies through an illegal department called the Special Programme and Project Unit engaged in over invoicing and inflation of contract. At the commencement of EFCCs investigations, Mr. Nyako left the country an accused with a range charges against him, that include criminal conspiracy, abuse of office and money laundering laboring hard to balance on his shoulders while he struggles hard to hurl, this we leave as we wait alongside Adamawas anxiously for the verdict of the courts.

Returning, nearly a year later just after the 2015 general elections will surely be an anxious time for Adamawas, who are fidgeted with their breaths held and mouths wide open waiting to see the tune and tone of the ex-governor’s apology to the states all and sundry, its format and the medium that will be used in its presentation. The people of Adamawa have for long looked up to this day, when those they entrusted with the affairs of their states treasury will come face to face with them and acknowledge their failure.

Political jobbers that have been put out of business of primarily undermining the development of Adamawa state and its people are licking their wounds and have thus turned to busy bees holding nocturnal meetings aimed at salvaging their current limbo status at the expense of the poor masses of Adamawa state, whose life’s lot this Bindow administration sees as its primary responsibility and not the reverse. The state they have conspired to keep underdeveloped for so long. The Bindow’s administration is ready to put itself under the grind axe of these unpatriotic elements, thus it will not be intimidated to sharing the monies meant for drugs and facilities in the states hospital, teaching aids and materials to the state schools and institutions, payment of pensioners, provision of portable drinking water, constructions of roads, agriculture and rural development just but to mention a few amongst a host others.

Bindow focuses his administration on the legacy of development. He gives priority to link roads for effective movement with in the state, tangible ways to expand Internally generated revenue base in the state, cutting down over head expenditure, paying backlog and grants by reducing ghost workers through biometric data collection and screening, upgrading educational and health facilities, job opportunities especially amongst the states teeming youth and facing the states security challenges. He has a direction on improving the lives of the poor not wasting time on sycophancy or laziness as it was in the past, with the though hurdles confronted with whilst facing the security challenge in state.

As a man that believes on the test of integrity the citizenry of the state have pitched him to, with the conviction that they wont be failed as they’ve in the past, he starts up with actions, embodied with zeal, conscience not voice. As eyewitnesses we are suppose to address issues not restoring to vile and scabrous idiolect. It’s very shameful and distasteful how swindlers and godfathers ruled Adamawa years ago just to satisfy their sadistic and selfish desire. The so called Abuja based Adamawa politicians that have busied themselves sponsoring the campaign of calumny in order to derail the developmental strides of Bindow’s administration, doesn’t come as a surprise because it had become a culture within the carefree in the state. They should have a rethink and take a cue on the vision and mission of the founding fathers of Adamawa state, which is to bequeath a state that every citizen of it would be proud of, on this path Bindow is and remains.

Rather, these elites toeing the path the Turaki of Adamawa has taken setting the difference between him and Bindow aside, who wasn’t on his favoured list prior the party primaries, and Bindow in alignment with the change mantra eschewed the differences of the past, instead of being the familiar vindictive Nigerian politician who leave nothing to chance to strike at perceived opponents not to talk of confirmed ones, Bindow reached out to grab the extended hand of friendship with a belief in the proclamation of “Adamawa First”. When will these elites visit the orphans of the state’s reconstructed orphanage and share some loving moment with the children, they can surely do a lot better if the Turaki touch is repeated again and again by their states elites. He has since embarked on street light projects, reconstruction of roads, upgrading hospitals, payments of grant and allowances, screening of ghost worker for proper data plan and account, rebranding the orphanage by his wonderful wife, sinking boreholes for the welfare of his people and the best among all continuity of projects by previous government such as road projects.

It’s a matter of time, change is difficult but it does come in a way most unexpected especially to those who disbelieve in it. We are witnessing change surely, but we wont relent until it happens all the way. Dividend of democracy, transparency and accountability are symbols of Governor Bindow’s style of leadership. It’s ostrich time, where people are looking for comfort rather than the challenges their kith and kin’s face, they should do the desired and needful of them to join hands and propel the state forward or bury their face in sands before their buried for them by Adamawas who are fast understanding their evil ways.
