– Now is the time for Female Presidency in Nigeria! —Adesanya-Davies

It was reported in the Breaking news; on February 17, 2022. that, “A woman aged 102 has declared her intentions to contest for Nigerian President in 2023. Mama Josephine Ezeanyaeche, the brave old woman, says “she has good plans to be executed in Nigeria should she be voted in as President in a report by SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK, FEB 17, 2022.”

Ezeanyaeche, who is also called ‘living legend’ or “Mama Africa’, hails from Aguata, Anambra state and is the founder of the ‘Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria’ group. During a recent visit to the Management team of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, she expressed readiness to contest for the number one position if the younger generations of the country are not ready.

Further, Caro Nwosu, president of the group quoted Ezeanyaeche as saying, “If Nigerians are shying away from political participation, she says she is ready to contest. She has already prepared a manifesto for herself; she has the vision. If the good ones don’t come out to contest…” The aged woman acknowledged the Nwosu’s statement as she said in Igbo, “If you have a male or female child, try to train them to surpass your own achievements. She was said to have received many awards for her contributions to humanity and nation-building, including the African Peace Award, 2021.

However, Adesanya-Davies on her part in an interview with our correspondent at RACHAMREPORTERS replies to assure Mama Ezeanyaeche that, ” the younger generations of women in the country are up to the task, willing and ready and will definitely participate in the 2023 elections fully without disappointing her, at the presidential level. Why not, mama! We the good ones will sure come out! We are not shying away from political participation at all, we are all concerned about the disturbing and horrifying state of the nation with passion and over six of us women have already declared and we are so much interested, confidence and courageous.

Prof. Adesanya-Davies, a frontline presidential aspirant the only Amazon in the 2023 race on the platform of the PDP repeats, as she has always said, “We, women need to try our best in 2023 at all levels. All hands must be on deck, from now onwards, every woman should endeavour to speak to at least fifty women to vote for a ‘woman President,’ in Nigeria. Tell five women daily from now till 2023 elections. Remember, Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘Your happiness starts from you and not from someone else.’ So should all the Nigerian youth and all the ‘he for she’ and all the men campaign and vote for the first female president in Nigeria in 2023. This could and would be the only functional approach.

Adesanya-Davies is the current Country President and International Director of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC) International Peace Advocates. She said that, “When intelligent, dedicated and women of excellence are empowered and put in top political positions, corruption, lack of development and all forms of vices and violence in their entirety can completely be exhumed from Nigeria.”

She assert, ” recall that towards 2019 elections, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) had endorsed my Presidential candidacy on the 8th day of June, in Port Harcourt and at the same event, I was awarshed with an Award of Excellence in Service and Outstanding leadership; with the inscription on the plaque “In recognition of her consistency, steadfastness, developmental strides, motherly disposition and mentorship towards the students community and society at large.” I once again say thank you to the Youths and Students community as I continue to enjoy their unalloyed and massive support. At the same event. she was endorsed for the Presidency by the Niger Students Union Government, National (NSUG) I also serve as their matron.”

Again, may I state that,” I have a dream, that one day, a woman will emerge as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the dream is now! This is because, if Nigerians elect a female president, THE NATION WILL BE RESTRUCTURED it will be a turning point in the nation’s history. My manifesto is ready and it would definitely not be business as usual by the special grace of God. It will be an honour to have Nigeria’s first female president. If Nigeria can give women a chance to rule, I am sure we will never regret it.
