It is paramount upon Ministries of Information as well as Education and NGOs to monetary assist in resuscitating educational programmes like ‘Who Want To Be a Millionaire’ which help both educationally and financially.

Some people are naturally gifted, they perfectly do extraordinary things by breaking records. A person who has written his name with gold in the history of edutainment programmes in Nigeria was Aroma Ufodike, from Nnewi, Anambra State, he appeared on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in Nigeria on September 11, 2009, and fortunately won 10 MILLION NAIRA.

He was the first and only person to win the top prize in Nigeria. He confidently answered all the questions without using any life-line. When he was on the last question, he said “ I want to use phone a friend option to call my family at home that I’m about to win 10 Million Naira.” and he finally changed the narrative by hitting the jackpot!

Sadly, television and other medius through which programmes are disseminated nowadays are chocked with numerous programmes most of which are for leisure, only few broadcast educational programmes but the majority focused on entertainments. This has contributed in mass failure of students when results of exams are released.

Parents on their parts during their free times should be trying to know subjects where their wards find them hard, they should be channeling complains to schools for proper actions to be taken and engage the services of experts that will be doing extra-mural lessons to them. Also, kids memorise things easily than adults, educational programmes therefore is key in making such children build reading culture from the scratch: parents should endure inquisitivity of children as they need answers to new knowledge they often come across.
