Right. By now you might have been jolted by the news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. For now, I will not go into the historical antecedence. Let’s admit it, the geopolitical effect will ripple very fast globally. Particularly for us in the global south, we will be squarely impacted.

Biden says Putin chose this war.

Putin says invasion of Ukraine, among other things, is a protection from genocide of Russians residents in Ukraine.(Errrm, like I said we can’t go into the historicity of that now).

Biden emphasizes that he has no plans to talk with Putin.

Adding that this aggression will not go unanswered.

Whereas America will not be attacking Russians in Ukraine, it will not fail to protect NATO and its allies.

Biden assures that Putin will become a pariah on global stage!

Now, these statements of the Western bloc and Eastern bloc leaders is interpreted by some as a precursor of a cold war in defense of NATO and the Soviet Union respectively.

To the global south, market shrinkage in Russia will spell a meteoric rise in ‘energy economics’ ie higher fuel prices. Certainly, this will impact the other dimensions of the already hemorrhaging economy in Africa, particularly.

Yes. we can’t overlook the eschatological interpretations to the current happenings either. Has Ezekiel 38 anything with this? Perhaps biblical eschatologist and apologist can also share some interpretations. Has the Zodiac anything with this trend?
