Sequence to the recent political belligerence and truculence, emanated within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Jigawa state chapter, where the popular son of the former governor of Jigawa state in person of Alh Mustapha Sule Lamido shown an interest, aspiring to become the governor Badaru of APC’s successor. This has generated a lot of exasperations by Jigawa state patriots, that he is never a good option to have the mantle of leadership and he can’t therefore take the state to the Promised Land.

The 38 years old son of the former governor has been tagged as an inexperienced politician that has no dexterity to solve the problems that crippled to state by the current administration. Many have the opinion that Jigawa is presently in a political as well as bureaucratic catastrophe under the Badaru’s administration. However, if care is not properly taken, by electing a competent and rightful leader, the damage will be calamitous to the people of Jigawa state after 2023 general elections. This has given birth to several questions on who will promote the state to a better position and to compete with its counter parts across the nation.

About 3 members of the PDP have shown an interest for the participation of the next general election; they are Hon Dr Bashir Adamu Ofr (Matawallen Kazaure); the former member federal house of Representatives for 16 years and held several committee chairman such as inter-governmental affairs, population, Navy and defense and later the chairman northern caucus of both senate and member house of reps, then Dr Nuruddeen Muhammad Hadejia the former minister of foreign affairs and the supervising minister of information under president good luck Jonathan and the last one Alh Mustapha Sule Lamido who has never held any political office, nor has he ever works with any government.

Earlier last month, the forum of former locals government chairmen in the state have endorsed Mustapha and the funniest part of their drama is that, some of them are party leaders at the state level, which is a great offense that attracts legal consequences as provided by the constitutions of the party yet there is not even a shallow attempt to call these political factotums to order by the party leadership in the state. Henceforth, this has generated some questions on the integrity of the leadership of the party under the chairmanship of Dr Babandi Gumel, despite the several calls made by the PDP family in the state in respect of the aforementioned issue.

Apparently, holding a political office like that of a governor requires someone who is very skilful, knowledgeable, charismatic, vibrant, decisive, yet a humble, that is willing to carry his people along. It also requires someone with a comprehension of the states, federal and international politics. It requires someone that can decide on what will benefit the common man decisively. It therefore requires a virtuoso politician with versatile proficiencies to sphere heads the affairs of people. Nonetheless, all disquisition has it that, Mustapha is neither capable nor eligible to run for the upcoming gubernatorial election. Considering the parameters thereof, the president has recently assented the electoral Act which gives a clear directives on how the electoral processes should be well coordinated by the INEC, which if the Act is infringed by any means is tantamount to legal consequences.

NB: I wonder the miracle to be performed for someone to become a governor in a state like Jigawa without experience, blueprint, and good manifestations. For such person to even emerge victory during the primary election, the said election must have been manipulated by some ardent power mongers, hankering and coveting for power by all means and never want the mantle of such power be out of their hands.

With the above facts, we’re calling the attention of the outstanding leader of the party in the state Alh Sule Lamido as well as the stakeholders to consider the interest of people not of those with interest of their personal aggrandizement, that do not in anyways want the state anything progress to the state whatsoever,

Recently, an online poll has proven that if Mustapha has by any coincidence becomes the flag bearer of the Jigawa state PDP, failures awaits the party even at the early hours on the day of the elections day. Over 3410 people stood with Hon Dr Bashir Adamu Ofr; 1000+ plus also stood with Dr Nuruddeen Muhammad and less than five hundred people were with Mustapha Sule Lamido; and this is a clear indication that shows how people are eager to decide who the cap fits.
