Trump shot at campaign rally

At a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania, a gunman opened fire, killing two people and wounding the former president in the ear.

A suspect fired “multiple shots” toward the stage from what the US Secret Service described as a “elevated position outside of the rally venue,” according to their confirmation.

They said that the gunman had been “neutralized” and was now deceased by US Secret Service agents. The organization also verified that two spectators had suffered critical injuries and one spectator had died.

Trump claimed that during the event, which happened when he was standing on stage giving a speech, a bullet went through the upper portion of his ear.

“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening,” he said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of law enforcement, for their rapid response.
