The summary of my argument so far on the above subject is that DCP Abba Kyari currently in custody for official infraction has been a blessing for the nation in his battle against crime in Nigeria and his continued incarceration is not in the best interest of the nation when he should be released to combat crime that metastasized to every nook and cranny of the nation. And I am happy that I am not alone in this campaign to free Abba Kyari. I have read more persuasive and compelling argument in the social media for his release and reinstatement.

This is my own little way of making my advocacy, I have no regrets about it. I will keep doing it until he is freed. And I want well-meaning Nigerians to join us in the crusade to free Abba kyari. There are countless number of cases of state pardons and reinstatements in our country even for those that have nothing more to offer in terms of services to the nation. Abba Kyari still has more to offer aside for his past lofty records. Abba kyari is young, active and ebullient.

But it seems that many has forgotten his exploit in crime bursting and that is really unfortunate. How can we forget so soon, the powers of the zealous Kyari, the risks he took to battle bandits and kidnappers fighting the nation. It is equally unfortunate that the authorities and those who took credit for Kyari’s exploits have abandoned him and the families that he risked his life to rescue, their loved ones from the kidnappers den have also forgotten the joy he brought into their lives. It is unbelievable distressing to note that no press review has been done to properly put into perspectives his contribution to crime fighting in Nigeria. All these portrays us as a nation of people with short memories.

Abba Kyari crime bursting exploits is fantastic like what we see in a movie script. In advanced countries like America people with Kyari’s skills are never disposed with just like that. Abba kyari is a hero and like every human he has his short comings and foibles. Kyari may have fumbled but you can’t take his performances and his records of crime bursting prowess away from him. Kyari has rare skills in crime bursting and network of motivated foot soldiers that he work with. He is focused , dedicated with tenacity of purpose. For all intents and purposes, Kyari deserves accolades and another chance. In the history of crime fighting in Nigeria Abba Kyari record is unparallel.

As a reminder, I will refresh your minds with some of the high profile arrests that he made as in did in the last write-up. In case you have forgotten, it was Abba Kyari that arrested Wadume, the dreaded bandit and kidnapper in Northeast states of Nigeria.

He led the battle to the arrest of the most wanted Boko-Haram commander Umar Abdulmalik and eight of his terrorists gang members. He spearheaded the arrests of 22 Boko-Hraram terrorists gang members responsible for the kidnap of the Chibok School Girls in 2014 and also was responsible for series of suicide bombings/several attacks and ambush against security agents in Bornu, Yobe and Adamawa states.

He also led the arrest of kidnappers who abducted a serving Assistant comptroller of customs in Port Harcourt, the arrest of deadly kidnappers responsible for the kidnap and murder of Mr John Iheanacho a staff of NNPC and President of Eastern zone investment cooperative society Ltd in Port Harcourt Rivers State. And the arrest of suspect responsible for the murder of Lieutenant Abubakar Yahaya Yusuf a serving naval officer and his girlfriend Miss Lorraine Omuye in River State.

In Kaduna, it was Abba Kyari that led the team that arrested deadly kidnappers responsible for the kidnap of two Americans and two Canadians in Kaduna State. He was also responsible for the arrest of deadly notorious criminal who threatened to kill the former vice -president of the country His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and his family. Again, he arrested the notorious arms dealer who specializes in selling arms to armed robbers, kidnappers and politicians in the South west and the recovery of over fifty arms and thousands of live ammunitions. The arrest of the kidnappers of the Turkish School Girls in Ogun and Lagos State was attributed to him. And so was the arrest of the kidnappers of Ikorodu School Girls in Lagos State.

Furthermore, the arrest of the kidnappers and killers of Reverend Father Adayi in Oturkpo Benue State was done by him. The same was the arrest of the kidnappers of two (2) American University of Nigeria (AUN) female students in Abuja and the the arrest of the kidnapper of Alhaji Salami in Abuja.

Indeed, the list is inexhaustible but I will pause here. In the next essays, I will highlight more of his work, his numerous awards that set him apart from the others and then list some of the many unresolved cases since he has been out of service. My appeal is to the President and the authorities to review his case and reinstate him for the interest of the nation.
