The damage yesterday’s rain caused in Ogun
IBEDC reports that while no lives were lost, the intense rain caused property damage valued at over N100 million, particularly to cars.
On Sunday, a downpour that lasted for more than an hour and twenty minutes wrecked cables, electrical poles, and multiple cars in the Oju-Ore neighborhood of Ogun and the Sango-Ota under bridge.
Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) lead for media relations, Mrs. Busolami Tunwase, verified the event to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun state.
The Sango-Ota-Oju-Ore area and its surroundings were devastated by the torrential rain that began at 11:30 a.m., according to NAN.
IBEDC reports that while no lives were lost, the intense rain caused property damage valued at over N100 million, particularly to cars.
IBEDC, according to Tunwase, was informed of the development and had sent a technical team to the region.
“We are appealing to the public to stay clear of every electrical pole, wire, and other electrical installation until we are able to clear everything off the road,” Tunwase said. (NAN)
