The Imperative Of Girl’s Education -By Maryam Adamu Sulaiman

To educates means to train the mind, character and abilities of individuals. Education is the fundamental human right that should be availed to all citizens irrespective of their social differences.

The importance of education in the life of an individual can never be overemphasized in both spiritual and temporal or mundane aspects of human existence. Education is paramount, it is the light that shows the way by removing the darkness of ignorance, the salt that gives the taste of life, the medicine that cures and the key which opens the doors of success.

The greatest favour one can do to himself or herself is to get education and impacts it to others. Education is the best legacy one can give to a child because giving your child education and skill is better than giving him or her one thousand pieces of gold.

Female like the male counter parts have the right to education and skill acquisition, the right to chasing their life goals and self actualization but what we see now in most cases today is another way round, many girls do not have adequate knowledge due to some factors which included: religion, marriage priority, poverty, violence, poor infrastructure and cultural norms, values and the native traditional philosophy is that a woman place is in her husband’s kitchen and her primary role centres on her home. this belief have kept many girl’s away and deprived her right to education and will be doomed to be illiterate forever.

No society can develop without the help of lady so why are we denying our girl children a right to education? Thus giving a girl child access to education can help to reduce the menaces bedevilling this great country because they can be able to impacts good knowledge to their children if they get married. Denying a girl child education is a community-based disorder since most of our male parents don’t stay at home its always the women that take care of the family and endured the situation.

It has been established by researchers that enabling female education is crucial for national development and the role of women cannot be underestimated. the general belief is that ” when you educate a man you educate one but when you educate a women you educate a nation‘’ why because the learning experience of every child start from the family as the first agent of socialisation. I.e. mother has been the cornerstone for instilling good parental care to her children by serving as their first tutor. Just imagine this scenario without the mother being educated.

There is an old adage that says, “If your plans are for one year plants rice, if your plans are for decades plants trees, but if your plans are for century educate girl child because she will instill it to the society in general not only herself.” So why not try the best that we could in order to rights the wrong of our society by giving our girl children a very good education for us to have a wonderful and sound society of our dreams.

When we educate girl child we may have a responsible mothers who will give proper parental of up bringing to their children either and in return they can be able to instill knowledge to their children. And this as a means, can help in having sound and responsible society that we will all beckon to in future.

Every girl child need to be educated to acquire knowledge and skills needed to advance her status for social interaction and self improvement. Girl education also prepares her to be a good wife and mother, when she is educated she realizes the full potentials endowed in her, and she discovers to be whoever and whatever she wants to be in this life, with education as a means she will be able to break the shell of ignorance and often that of self discovery.

Therefore, educating a girl child translates to better health for future generation. Since when you instill a knowledge to a girl child is like you give knowledge to the society entirely why because they are the one responsible in taking the task of parental care which can be link to family as the first agent of socialisation.

Would you as a concern, caring and loving father or mother wishes to see your loving daughter in this condition? Definitely the answer to this challenge might be unanswerable to any responsible parents.

This is a call for encouraging the Girl Child Education!!!
