The Journey So Far ~ MEMO to Jigawa State Governor -By Umar Farouk Jahun

Your Excelkency, I appreciate many of your proactive and decisive handling of our many sectors. You has shown exemplary leadership, courages, professionalism, genuine sacrifice and experience. Above all an extremely patient and tolerant of divergent views.

It is indeed forward looking that some projects you inherited from the immediate past administration have also been continued and financed, to ease means of our economic development. I recommend how you are in a hurry to develop the state insfrastructure. Especially with many road projects being executed.

Your Excellency, I was also aware how you commissioned the medical wards, rural health care centres well as other widespread newly construction of Specialist hospitals in Hadejia and Babura respectively. And stopping unnecessary spendings at the expense of poor. These was quite remarkable.
In respect to that, we’re mindful of your promises to the people of Jigawa State. You promised your administration determined to confront head-on all the issues bedevilling our state. Sir, the major issue bendwiling the progress of our dear state are quality healthcare, educational system, unemplyment and poverty.

Your Excellency as you know better, when fixes the education sector, you’re preparing the ground for the young ones to learn perfectly and realise their potential in order to help towards state and nation building. Jigawa is currently one of the state with highest number of out of school children. Sir, you could do more to endeavor in the various ways you could help, as with your truly willing the problem could be drastically solve or reduce. You have the power for encouraging the state house of assembly to pass the law that will mandate parents to send their kids to school.

Sir, In respect to poverty, you need to prioritise in order to touch the lives of the poor, thereby implementing welfarist policies in the states. Called the poor and indigent folks, enter into a social contract with them where the government gives them handouts tied to training and skill acquisition for all able-bodied individuals, so that atleast they can cater for themselves. 

Your Excellency, we also need more existent health care especially in rurals areas. Some of that we have are not equipped and are understaffed. Well from the little I’ve had a chance to see, the health of the general community may actually depend more on the grassroot level healthcare workers than the top tier folks.

Your Excellency, permit me to reminding you the thousands of males and females citizens, most especially the youths who have undergone series of untold sufferings and struggles in ensuring that your desire to rule them in both first and second terms meets a fruitful end? These youths are at the fore-front during elections and turn out to be the most disruptive, because they believe as well as you are in office meant automatic job and will enable them to live a better life, hence they saw anything contrary position as one blocking their paradise on earth. 

Sir, youths unemployment was been a long problem and a matter of preference that need your utmost heed and urgent intervention. The idleness has indulged so many of our prospective youths that have vast wealth of intelligence and potentials to the society into committing various crimes.

Your Excellency, you had achieved alot in these five year so far. But I believe the best thing you achieved as a leader is when you see the people you govern are really happy with you around.

It’s time to take advantage of all available  opportunities in order to achieve the goals as outlined in your manifesto. We look forward to good Governance that aims to be transparent and strives to implement sound sustainable long term solutions to Jigawa state.

Your Excellency, you have really done well, but you should be more acquaint with challenges that lie ahead but, Jigawa peoples are expecting many more transformational changes.
