The UDUS Political Paradox: Employing the Cat to Guard the Soup against the Rats -By Jamiu Lukman Akanbi

The optimal solution lies in addressing the issue and advocating for the establishment of a third arm of government within UDUS politics. A Union court established by the UDUS Student Union Constitution would address matters independently, unaffected by past administrations. Let the last hope of the common man take charge, instead of pursuing futile endeavors.

The intriguing scenario within UDUS politics is akin to a paradox unfolding within Nigeria itself. Why resort to drastic measures when the solution is evident? Their actions speak of unity, yet their intentions align. Despite the hidden nature of their behavior, the encomiums sung since their initial leadership role have unveiled their motives. It was a calculated move for them to assume power once more.

“He who seeks to oversee us must be scrutinized,” and also counterbalanced. Decisions about an issue shouldn’t be made by an irrelevant party. It’s hard to believe that someone with skeletons in their closet has been tasked with overseeing others’ excesses. Clearly, UDUS politics mirrors the Nigerian political landscape. It’s as if a witch has been entrusted with nurturing a child, determining its fate.

The jester among the players, Muniru, provides entertainment for the Hambalis. It’s astonishing when an individual like Abba Kyari is summoned to address corruption, embezzlement, and misconduct. The political game and its fluctuations are evident. Who’s granting the Danfodites political prominence? It’s akin to using urine to clean feces – a bitter truth that needs confronting. This is why the institution needs a third branch of governance to finalize UDUS politics.

Appointing a former alleged offender to judge new defendants is akin to contradictory behavior. One who condemns should be steadfast and honest. A pot can’t call a kettle black. It’s a paradox when the same individual who recently resigned over allegations is called upon to adjudicate a similar situation. This is a peculiar paradox within UDUS that I’m hesitant to criticize, but “a thief can’t label another a thief!” It’s a challenging time for wise observers who remain silent, as maintaining silence is often wisest. However, when speech is suppressed to avoid rocking the boat, the stench spreads and leadership prospects diminish.

Remaining neutral and silent is akin to hypocrisy. Speak your mind and be honest. A fair judge must remain impartial. One’s child can’t adorn themselves with someone else’s jewelry. This is the pesticide that eradicates any potential for growth – a situation playing out within UDUS.
