Tribute to my late father in-law Engr. Aliyu Shehu -By Abdullahi Adda’u Turawa

Death changes everything, My prayers and thoughts are with his family, May Allah continue to strengthen his entire family with the fortitude to continue to bear this obviously painful loss. May Allahu bless each one of them, unify them, guide them aright, and protect and provide for them in the difficult times ahead, May Allah forgive him and grant him a highest rank jannah.

Tolerance and the Importance of Dialogue in Islam By Imam Murtada Gusau

Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun (Indeed we belong to Allah, and verily to Him we will return – Qur’an 2:156)

Friday, 6th May 2022 will forever remain indelible in our soul, it’s the day we lost not just a father-inlaw but a super dad, a confidant, an adviser, a counselor, a reliable pillar and a jewel of inestimable value to the cold hands of death. Kullu nafsin zaikatul maut (Indeed every soul shall taste death – Qur’an 3:185).

I must admit that I’m not good at writing tributes but as late Engineer Aliyu Shehu Faskari, he was a father, a father in-law. And also my father’s colleague in Katsina state polytechnic now Hassan Usman poly, in late the 80s when katsina and kaduna are still together, they live in “ladan baki” quarters in katsina.

The first day i met him was in my 2021,  he was then energetic and sound, in his library full of islamic books, that day i was afraid of him all my stay in there, i was worried and keep praying may he Not taste me with one of his books which i have no knowledge about it or i have never come across of.

He was together with his friend and a family member, after exchanging pleasantries, he said to me you look like your father and i smile, ‘who he hasn’t seen in many years.’ Though I don’t know much about him because he doesn’t talk to much according to my experience on my first day with him.

Now he is no more; wife, a trinity of distinguished children, grand-children, great-grand-children, a group of relations and friends.
