Governor Matawalle of Zamfara State

My perplexity is growing whenever I remember nobody is safe in this country, more especially in the Northeastern and northwestern parts of the country, where innocent citizens are being killed daily, it sad that our leaders failed to discharge their primary responsibilities which are to safeguard lives and properties.

One is even afraid to read the newspaper headlines because most of the stories are devastating, it is either someone has been kidnapped or killed by bandits or Boko Haram, and other militias, it is sad that we cannot move freely in almost every part of this country without fear of being kidnapped or killed.

The most perturbing question now is to ask who is safe and who is going to be the next victim of these unscrupulous elements, because when the Emir and other top-notch politicians can be killed or abducted what of an ordinary Nigerians?

I was very sad when I read the sad development that bandits have abducted the Emir of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state, this is so unfortunate that even our Emirs are not safe, Government at all levels need to wake up in protecting lives and properties.

Another sad development also happened on the same day where the Provost of the College of Arts and Animal Science in Zamfara state has been abducted by bandits, this is uncalled for and outrageous that the so-called bandits can kill and kidnap and go scout free.

However, our armed forces are trying everything humanly possible to ensure peace and stability reign in the country, there is still a need to put more effort into tackling rampant killings and kidnappings across the country.

Nonetheless, one might ask himself why northerners are always at the forefront when it comes to senseless killings and heinous activities in the country.

Therefore, I called on the government at various levels not to overlook these issues and take necessary measures for the betterment of Nigerians.
