Yaomul Jum’ah: Drop that seed, it is a Destroyer -By Olayinka Abdur-Razzaq

Islamic literature is full of instances which renounce and prohibit it. Come to think of Firaun, the biggest tyrant on planet earth. He was destroyed because of that seed.

I believe you remember your open enemy vividly_ Shaitan. Do you know what made him to be ejected out of the Paradise by Allah? It’s that said seed. So, don’t swallow it.

Wait, haven’t you heard or read about Qarun? The reason Allah caused the earth to swallow him and his wealth while everyone was watching is that the same seed. Dears, drop it.

See, many Prophets have come and gone by. Many nations have been destroyed because of their failure to pay heed to the call of the Messengers on it. They responded to the truth with it and Allah punished them.

That said seed is the “Pride.” Behold, an atom’s weight of pride can lead one to hell. Allah loves not the proud and arrogant. Hence, run from it. Allah says in the Quran in Surah al Nisa that He hates pride and arrogance in clear and simple words.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him reported that Nabiy, peace be upon him said: “The person who has the weight of a mustard seed of pride in his heart, will not enter Jannah. subhanaaLlah!

Someone said, ‘A man likes his clothing and shoes to be beautiful [i.e. will this be regarded as pride?].
Nabiy, peace be upon him said:, ‘Allah is certainly beautiful and he loves beauty. Pride is disdaining the truth [due to self conceit and arrogance] and contempt for people.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 91)

Putting it in context today, there are people who take pride in their color, in their caste, in their nationality, in their level of worship and their occupations. Dear brethren! Be always remembering the end of Qarun, the ever richest in all the worlds. Fir’aun and Shaitan. I think their ends should make you refrain from the pride.
